Early one bright fresh morning in September a group of business people set off walking through Shipley Country Park for a networking event; part of a series of Netwalking being run by Skylarks Activities for the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce.
Instead of being indoors, the networking took place outdoors hen the group talking as they walked through the scenic parkland at Shipley. The walkers turned back through Mapperley Nature Reserve and made a visit to the Derby Lodge Tea Rooms where refreshments were enjoyed in the garden.
The well defined routes and points of interest at Shipley made a smooth environment for business networking. The combination gave a new dimension to networking with people feeling free and easy to mix with others who had similar interests.
Members appreciated the event so much that they wanted to repeat it. A series of further Netwalks have been arranged for October, November and December.
